Okay onto today’s tips!
3. Make changes incrementally
Whenever I hear someone say they are going to make changes to the way they eat or exercise and they make 56 million changes all at once, I always feel nervous because human nature is such that if we try and change everything at once, chances are our bodies and minds will become so confused, we will feel resistance, overwhelm and give up quickly.
So my suggestion is to make changes slowly.
Maybe next week you could just focus on drinking more water, or reducing refined carbohydrates like cakes, pastries and white pasta or on exercising 3 times that week.
But try to do them all at once and chances are you won’t get past Wednesday before feeling frazzled and overwhelmed.
Slow and steady wins the race 🙂
4. Look into all that inner world, emotional stuff!
Self limiting beliefs and self sabotage can keep you so stuck that no matter how hard you try to fix things on the surface, nothing will change.
If your internal belief system is telling you (unconsciously!!) that you don’t deserve to be healthy or that if you make these lifestyle changes, people you love will have a problem with you, it doesn’t matter how much willpower you have, you are swimming upstream.
You have to sort your internal world out if you want to see lasting change
5. Get support + accountability
You can have the nutrition plan, you can have the exercise routine but if you don’t have support + accountability, it’s really hard to make it work. Hey, I didn’t make up the rules but we as humans are hardwired to be in relationship with each other. We just don’t do so well on our own. It’s just the way we are which means together we are so much more likely to succeed.
